Get ready to be surprised. This Maag is a clown without a clown nose, and he has a subtle talent for improvisation. Every performance is unique and tailored to the specific audience – sophisticated interactive theatre at its best. Look forward to a round of alpine madness and skiing at the height of summer. This Maag serves unexpected gags and great interaction with the audience – he is a true crowd-pleaser.

Das ist der gipfel (This is the summit) has some English language and enough universal clown and physical language for everybody to understand.

You will meet Mr. Loyal, the Ringmaster, and his assistants, the acrobats, the strong woman, and her menagerie of wild animals. As the one-man band plays enthralling and lively music, you are transported into an offbeat creative universe of wacky, humoristic, and poetic burlesque acrobatics, and popcorn!  A quirky, silly, and lovable performance with no words, but lots of slightly different circus acts full of partner acrobatics, balloons, penguins, a cowboy, a lion and a lady in a very large dress made of life jackets. Let’s play!

Haute Heure reinvents the circus tradition. No fuss, no blah, performing simple and raw acts, though there may be difficulties and obstructions for the creative and surprising characters. Inspired by the spirit of Cirque Calder.

About Alexander Calder and the circus: In 1926, the American artist Alexander Calder created his Cirque Calder: an artistic rendering of a circus. It involves wire models of circus performers, from contortionists to sword eaters to lion tamers. The models were made of wire and a spectrum of found materials. During his time in Paris, Calder began improvising circus shows.

A mother and her children are taking a casual walk in the city. They are not quite ordinary though – they are giants. The children are very boisterous: they play tricks on kids and adults alike, while the mother, with her baby in the XXL baby carriage, tries in vain to restore order. ‘The Big Family’ is an itinerant colorful show without words. Nobody will remain indifferent to it.

It’s already too late. It’s daylight. They’re out in the open, in the middle of the city, vulnerable. They shave the walls with their stolen 2 x 1.40-metre painting. The sidewalks lay traps for them, the bus shelters, posts and benches are an incomprehensible labyrinth. All eyes are on them. They have no choice but to do everything in their power to disappear. And that’s precisely what’s leading them to disaster. They are like two castaways clinging to the stolen work like a raft.

About the company

“Les Etablissements Lafaille” was founded in 2017. “La faille” in French means “the Flaw”. Being trained as clowns, imperfection calls on them, moves them. ”At the bottom of every flaw exists a thread that we do our best to pull because this is a golden thread. We are imperfect so we are precious. A flaw is a space, an empty space, in which everything can exist, from where everything can come out.”

A duo influenced by the imaging and language of Chaplin and Lloyd’s silent movies.

Meet Arthur – a surreal and bewildered vagabond is moving in at the town square with his two improvised carts and a bed. However, Arthur does not only carry his home with him but also a veritable street food stall, that, as if by magic, takes shape in front of our eyes. For Arthur, cooking is a way to earn a living – and to meet new friends. However, impossible recipies and kitchen equipment that has a life of its own sends us all on a funny and more or less culinary journey.

We live surrounded by people and other living beings. Why do we take into consideration some lives and others don’t? Can we empathize with a bird, a fish or a tree? How can the attempt to put ourselves in their shoes transform us?  Sfumato is a poetic, immersive and itinerant reflection on the relationships we establish with other species in public space. A journey that seeks to blur our limits as humans, opening cracks through which new sympathies, care and solidarity can begin to circulate.

Tape That! is a playful exploration and reinterpretation of the world we live in today; Completely wordless, the two performers create a visual world using colourful tape, object manipulation and partner acrobatics. A simple roll of tape is transformed from a DJ booth into binoculars and stretched to create physical boundaries that the performers must work together to navigate through. With humor and artistic skills, Hands Down Circus plays with the infinite possibilities of tape, and inspires a playful approach to life.
