Antilia: Crazy Heart

An Italian open air circus arena
Meet the Italian circus artists, that temporarily have moved into your city, and experience five different performances in Antilia.

At first glance, Antilia appears to be a classic circus arena where five artists perform their acts in rotation. Upon closer acquaintance, it is much more than that. It is a collective, a community that seeks to explore the relationship between the artist and the organizer, between the artwork and the audience, as they travel with a touring circus arena in Europe.

In Antilia, you can experience, among others:

Crazy Heart by Selvaggia Mezzapesa (IT)

An aerial performance from the heart.
Between acrobatics and dexterity in the air and beyond, Selvaggia will take us through the different stages of love, and through her heart, she will guide us into a poetic universe, where we can dream, interact and get excited with her.

Inbetween the performances, you can meet and have a chat,
not only with the artists but also with many Italian cultural figures who have traveled with the company (and who have brought an espresso machine and good Italian coffee with them…).

What is it like to be a circus artist in contemporary Europe? How do we create sustainable frameworks for European performing arts that ensure artists from the east and west, north and south can showcase their work throughout Europe?

Antilia is a touring circus arena inspired by circuses of bygone times when tents did not yet cover the stages. Antilia is a desire to share, dream, and create circus in an arena that encompasses not only performances but also places and emotions. Inside Antilia, you can feel the lively and direct connection b
