Simply Treeming

BabaFish Asbl (BE)
Aerial acrobatics and dance with trees.

Do you remember how it feels like climbing a tree? A big old one with great roots. It has experienced history going by. A person is intertwined in the arms of the tree, like a hug. Simply Treeming is aerial acrobatics and dance with trees. The performance aims to bring back sensuousness, body awareness and attentiveness. It is a unique encounter between human, trees, nature and surrounding sounds. It is a sensuous and visual walk, where Anke Fiévez & Mille Lundt creates a re-connection with the trees in town.

The performance is inspired by the German sociology Harmut Rosa’s theory on alienation and acceleration. The theory is making a critique of the daily speed and streamlining and asks if it nourishes the good life we want to live.
