Normal Cake, Please is a fictional wedding taking place in Helsingør in August 2021. Unusual and unexpected, this site-specific, performance playfully addresses concepts of normality, freedom and cake.
The audience is split into groups and invited to help with appropriate and inappropriate preparations for the happy couple and explore the question: What does normal love mean to you?
Following the performance, the audience is invited to a 30 minutes discussion and coffee-break

about the company
Artists Ivo Briedis (LV), Janne Saarakkala (FI), and Nina Larissa Bassett (DK) met on a devising workshop DESTINATION HELSINKI in Finland in 2004, where they were part of making a performance about love in the city at Svenska Teatern.
They went on to produce the intimate, site-specific performance IN THE NUDE 2007-09 that performed in hotel rooms in Helsinki, Copenhagen, Riga and Montreal.
In 2012-14 they were joined by Icelandic artist Elin Petersdottir and created LEFTOVERS FROM THE WAR that performed in museums and monumental buildings in Riga, Helsinki and Odsherred.
In 2019 they embarked on a new Baltic journey with Canadian/ Finnish stand-up comedian and performer Jamie MacDonald. Normal Cake, Please takes a look at new and old definitions of normality and love.
