THURSDAY 29 – SATURDAY 31 JULY,  PASSAGE Festival invites you for a morning coffee together with three poets and original voices, that most of us have never heard. PASSAGE Festival has started a collaboration with the Slovenian festival Days of Poetry and Wine, located in the city of  Ptuj in the borderland between Slovenia, Croatia, Austria and Hungary. Ana Svetel is a poet, writer and anthropologist from Slovenia. Her poetry book Lepo in prav (2015) was shortlisted for the Debut of the Year award, while her collection of short stories Dobra družba (2019) was shortlisted for the literary award Novo Mesto. Her new poetry collection, Marmor will come out in early 2022. Her texts regularly appear in major Slovenian literary magazines, while several of her stories were adapted into radio plays and premiered on the National Radio. As an anthropologist, she is currently researching the socio-cultural aspects of weather and luminosity in Iceland. She won the first prize at the literary competition Straniščne spletke in 2019.

About the translator

Alen Mešković is Danish-Bosnian writer and translator. He was born in Bosnia in 1977 and has lived in Denmark since 1994. His debut was the critically acclaimed collection of poems Første gang tilbage (Back for the first time) in 2009. His first novel, Ukulele-jam (Ukulele Jam) from 2011 was nominated for the literary award Weekendavisens Litteraturpris and sold for publishing in eight countries, including Germany and UK. It is also being staged as a play in Germany (2016-19) and Bosnia (2020-). In 2012, Alen Mešković was awarded a 3-year working grant by the Danish Arts Foundation for the novel. One-Man Tent is a stand-alone sequel of Ukulele Jam is published in three countries.
