CANCELLED City Matters

Can we feel a connection to asphalt and concrete?

 In City Matters, you get the chance to get up close and personal with the materials of the city. Take a walk, where you as part of a group sense and move through the city, while you hear about the nature and cycle of building materials. Through headphones, you hear composed soundscapes which, along with sculptural dance performances, open the surfaces of the cityscape to your awareness. A symphony of knowledge, tasks and questions leads you into the city’s space, while you examine the city’s geological body and choreography over time focusing on how we humans are entangled in a larger organism.

Remember to wear practical clothes and suitable footwear. Unfortunately, the hike is not suitable for people with walking difficulties. 

AGE: From 16 years 

DURATION: 60 min.  

REMEMBER: Valid corona passport must be presented by anyone over the age of 14 at the entrance of the venue

Metropolis Residencies: Performative Landscapes - Tora Balslev

about the company

 Tora Balslev creates movement-based perfomances and is the artistic director of Daily Fiction, which relates to the tendencies of re-evaluating the relationship between nature and ressources. Maiken Vibe Bauer is a chemist and sound artist. Using field recordings she explores how our senses resonate with our surroundings and how these collaborations create the concept of space. 

City Matters is developed in collaboration with Passage Festival and Metropolis. The performance is supported William Demant Fonden, Nordea Fonden, Dansk Artistforbund and Statens Kunstfond.
