Programme

For three years, Helsingør Teater and PASSAGE Festival have held the artistic direction of the English street theatre festival SO Festival in Skegness, Lincolnshire. This year, the festival’s physical format was replaced by SOfa Fest: a digital version, which reached both a Danish and an English audience with streamed performances in bot DK and UK as well as participatory activities. SOfa Fest was broadcast live 1st – 2nd August through SO Festival channels, and 22nd – 23rd August through PASSAGE Festival.

The programme had segments especially for children, for the entire family and for mostly adults.

PROGRAM SATURDAY

In the Morning | from 11am – a selection of exciting content made especially for our youngest audiences. Featuring the following projects:

  • Grubby Knees Community Theatre – A Grubby Guide to Social Distancing
  • Tales From The Heartwood
  • Barmpot Theatre – To the Moon and Back
  • Rhubarb Theatre – The Time Machine
  • Birdhouse Projects – Life’s a Beach

After Lunch | From 1pm – a selection of exciting content suitable for the entire family. Featuring the following projects:

  • The Different Light Collective – The Butterfly Project
  • Feasible Ferret Theatre, Under The Bed Theatre & Georgina Weller – The SOfa Festival Game Show
  • Amy O’Sullivan – SofaDance
  • Hambledon Productions – The Speech
  • Content filmed live from PASSAGE Festival in Denmark

In the Afternoon | From 3.30pm – a selection of exciting content suitable for our grown-up audiences. Some content features strong language and adult themes. Featuring the following projects:

  • Jake Newby & Aidan Clarkson – The Lost Buskers of Louth
  • Fee Griffin – Skegness Sees/Says/Seas
  • Benjamin Peel & Breakwater Theatre Company – Presenting the Past
  • Sinfonia Viva – The SOfa Festival Choir
