Antilia: Yes Land

At first glance, Antilia appears to be a classic circus arena where five artists perform their acts in rotation. Upon closer acquaintance, it is much more than that. It is a collective, a community that seeks to explore the relationship between the artist and the organizer, between the artwork and the audience, as they travel with a touring circus arena in Europe.

At first sight, it may seem like a chaotic house, but this is actually Giulio’s universe. Gulio, an eternal traveler in search of approval, is trying to put things in order and take control. Everything does not always run smoothly, but, with a little imagination, every hitch becomes an opportunity to find the positive side of things. Giulio Lanzafame combines a story about doing everything right with absurdity, charm and a dynamic combination of excessive clown, acrobatics, juggling and slackrope.

Inbetween the performances, you can meet and have a chat, not only with the artists but also with many Italian cultural figures who have traveled with the company (and who have brought an espresso machine and good Italian coffee with them…).

Antilia will be located on the lawn by Sankt Olai Church throughout the festival.

Antilia is a touring circus arena inspired by circuses of bygone times when tents did not yet cover the stages. Antilia is a desire to share, dream, and create circus in an arena that encompasses not only performances but also places and emotions. Inside Antilia, you can feel the lively and direct connection between the audience and the artist in a magical and welcoming atmosphere.
